Have Interest Rates Come Down Yet?

The Effects of Quantitative Easing in the U.S.: a VECM Approach

I coauthored this research paper with my classmate Pengfei Li for my M.A. econometrics class. Using data from the Federal Reserve and the Vector Error Correction Model, we examine the general and interest-rate effects of the Fed's five-year long bond-purchasing scheme under the Quantitative Easing program.

National Population Projections

A survey of Australia, Canada, Germany and the United Kingdom

Coauthored with Fairooz Reaz, this report surveys four national population projections for Australia, Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom. The goal is to dissect the projections into their key components, identify the ways in which assumptions about these components are made, and analyze the effects of the assumptions in the projections. The pros and cons of the assumptions and areas of improvement are discussed for future population projections.

Focus on Mortgage Rate Hike

A Macroeconomic Impact Analysis Using FOCUS

Using the macro-econometric model FOCUS, developed and maintained by the Rotman School of Business at the University of Toronto, I analyze the channel through which a mortgage rate shock impacts the Canadian economy.

End-Use Electricity Consumption and Energy Saving

Breaking It Down to Kilo-Watt Hours with Conditional Demand Analysis

Using the Conditional Demand Analysis technique with micro-data from the U.S. EIA, I build an econometric model that breaks down annual household electricy consumption in the U.S. by end use. I subsequently presented this paper for my Energy & Regulation class.

The Ontario Wait Time Strategy (working paper)

How Much Is Reduced? A SARIMA Model Approach

This paper follows Paterson et al.’s (2007) studies on the Ontario Wait Time Strategy (WTS) and uses reconstructed seasonal auto-regressive integrated moving-average (SARIMA) models to evaluate the Strategy’s effects on reducing backlogs of both targeted and non-targeted procedures.

STITCHES: Suzhou Fast Forward

STITCHES is the first major exhibition I helped bring to life while working as manager and design assistant at WORKshop Inc. I was closely involved in every aspect of the exhibition: from conceptual development, exhibition design, installation, and promotion to takedown.

Website, Social Media, E-mail Marketing, Print Design

I revamped the national website and 10 chapter websites, redesigned various print and digital publishing templates, upgraded the e-mail marketing system to an analytics-enabled system, and scheduled year-round e-mail campaigns. Currently I am working part-time as the social media coordinator focusing primarily on the official LinkedIn groups.

Wireless Source Logo

WirelessSource.ca Ordering System

Wireless Source is a Canada-wide B2B distributor of commercial radio products. The old way of doing business via price books and faxing in orders faced imminent obsolescence as a younger generation of dealers seek to complete all transactions online. Working with the main account manager, I digitized the ordering process bespoke-style: managing dealer info, categorizing products, generating quotes and orders, and purchasing directly online.
